Recipes, How to Freeze Dry and a Giveaway!

“So I have a year’s supply of food. The question is, can I live off it?”

That’s the question that spurred Sherida, mother of six, to experiment with actually living off of the family’s emergency stored food for six months. You can read about Sherida’s journey on her blog, but suffice it to say, she learned a lot. Meanwhile, her friend Megan also had an emergency food supply for her family, but it was a random assortment of cans and boxes that Megan assumed her family would just be grateful to have if they got hungry enough. As Megan watched Sherida actually live out her six-month emergency food drill, she quickly realized her emergency plan had major flaws.

Sherida’s story inspired Megan to begin her own experiment – creating an store of emergency food that her family would actually enjoy. Instead of just surviving an emergency, Megan was out to preserve her family’s quality of life. The result is a fantastic blog called My Food Storage Cookbook. Megan’s blog will show you how to assemble your own cookbook for delicious freeze-dried food, how to create a food storage calendar and how to plan and track supplies. Megan’s blog also contains an enormous list of delicious recipes that are designed to freeze dry.
