Actually, I heard on a prepper site that the medium size one might be able to be hooked up to a solar panels, battery, etc and ran off grid if necessary. I don’t know if it’s possible, but it sounds like an interesting advantage to investigate before trading it in. The idea of being able to continue putting away food even if the grid was down, seems like it would be a nice advantage. Have fun no matter which way you decide!
